In his book Moral Courage, Rushworth Kidder notes that morally courageous action involves three elements: a commitment to moral principles, an awareness of the danger involved in acting on those principles, and a willingness to act despite danger. We must commit to the moral values we will stand for, possess the moral awareness to recognize situations in which those values are called into question, and then act on our values, regardless of the risks.
Give an example of a time when you or one of your colleagues demonstrated moral courage.
