The Mandate for Palestine

my profesor said “Smith, Document 2.6 The Mandate for Palestine

It’s the 1930s and you are a bureaucrat in the British Mandate of Palestine. You’ve received an early released copy of a book by George Antonius, a Lebanese Arab Cambridge graduate serving in our education department. In his book, Antonius ravages his generous employer His Majesty’s Government. Nevertheless, he makes some good points. In order to prevent a general uprising of the Palestinian Arabs or face violence from the Zionist extremest Irgun, your task is advise our government on how to respond to Antonius’s complaints while honoring the terms of the Mandate.

Analyze Antonius’s text, examining his claims, subclaims, evidence, and audience. Read critically and propose at least four policies the British government should enact to assuage Mr. Antonius’s concerns.

Quote from Antonius or the Mandate text. Cite Smith’s text for factual information about the pre-1936. Upload your submission by class time Monday, unless you qualify for 1.5x test time.”
