The British Armys participation in the First World War produced an enormous amount of paperwork about the day-to-day workings of its military units. Many of these documents have never been studied by historians and remain treasure troves of information about the men and women who fought and died in the service of Britain. Operation War Diary is an online attempt to make some of these documents accessible to researchers. Citizen historians have been volunteering around the world to use Operation War Diarys archiving tools to create a searchable database of information based off of millions of scanned First World War documents. If you choose to participate in this project please read, mark and complete three documents for Operation War Diary and then right a 600 word response in which you describe the documents you analyzed and if and how they connect to what we learned about the First World War.
