Tackling a Research Question of Interest

For this assignment, you’ll formulate a question related to psychology that interests you.You have a lot of flexibility over which question you choose, but make sure someone could study it empirically. Doing this is usually a matter of wording.

Now that you’ve chosen a topic, you can think about how a researcher might investigate your question. You’ll design a hypothetical study, drawing on the research methods we discussed in Chapter 2. Don’t worry – you won’t have to carry out this research!
Please choose among the following data collection methods:

Case study
Naturalistic observation
Survey
Archival research
Lab experiment
Quasi-experiment

-Share what interests you about this research topic?

-Tell me about your study. Which data collection method will you use? Is your research correlational, or are you trying to establish causation? How will you obtain participants and assign them to groups (if applicable)? How will you control for bias?

-Analyze your approach. What strengths and limitations are associated with your data collection method? How generalizable are your findings to the real world? Might any ethical challenges arise in conducting your research?
