you will type that passage word for word.  It could be one or two sentences or more sentences. Be sure to put quotation marks around the quoted passage and then in parenthesis list the page number of the quote.  Next, you will type a response to that quote; the response must be at least 100 words.  Explain why you chose that quote: Why was it interesting or significant to you? Explain why. Is it a passage you agree or disagree with?  Does it connect to a belief that you have or to an experience you have had, or another essay you have read?  The format for a Quote/Response will look like the following:
