2. In this presentation, I will talk about:

Unlike many WWII architectures (e.g. Museum of the Defense and Siege of Leningrad) and artifacts (e.g. USS Missouri), most Nazi architectures have been deliberately demolished, including the Fuhrerbunker, the supposedly final resting place for Adolf Hitler. This presentation explores the underlying reasons that led to remarkable variation in treatment between former Nazi landmarks and WWII architectures elsewhere, which for the better part had been permanently preserved. Furthermore, it is important to notice that great variation in terms of treatments exists among even amongst former Nazi landmarks; Auschwitz for example available for the public to visit. Given the historical significance of Fuhrebunker, is it not appropriate to make it a memorial that reminds us of the war crimes that Nazis committed? This presentation argues that demolition of Nazi landmarks is an integral part of denazification, and whether former concentration camps including Auschwitz should remain standing has become questionable.
