A literacy narrative is written in first-person and is based on the authors own experiences. First-person point-of-view requires the use of I,me,and other personal pronouns. This is a personal essay about your own life experiences. A personal essay is typically organized in either chronological order or topical order. Chronological order involves telling a story based on how the events in the story took place over time. In other words, simply tell the story as it happened in real life, from start to finish. A topical organizational pattern does not move through time, but instead uses separate paragraphs to address separate topics.
