exercise physiology

In Chapters 4-6, you learned about hormonal control during exercise, energy expenditure and fatigue, and the cardiovascular system and control. How does exercise change fat and carbohydrate metabolism and what are the key hormones involved in metabolic regulation? Why is it important to measure energy expenditure and substrate utilization (RER) during maximal exercise and how does this guide exercise prescription? What would be the effects on exercise performance with changes (increase or decrease) in blood volume, RBC counts, and blood viscosity? Which hormones affect blood volume, RBC counts, and blood viscosity and how are these regulated?
