Are territorial boundaries morally important? Do the rights and interests of states trump the rights of individuals who cross borders for various reasons? What are the arguments presented in this weeks readings on this issue; i.e. Walzer, cosmopolitan, Goldstone, and Pecoud & Guchteneire? Which position is best in terms of promoting the rights of migrants, but also taking into consideration the sovereignty of nation-states? How do you think this issues relates to the contemporary immigration issue in the United States? Should migrants be given more rights? Why or why not?
