Students will choose a topic of interest related to a global health issue and write a review of literature with a focus on epidemiological factors for that issue (e.g. Prevalence and Incidence rates in various communities, odds or risk, prognosis, economic and social justice impacts, etc) Prior approval of the topic for the final paper is required; no papers on the Opioid Epidemic or COVID-19 will be allowed. Students will research the topic thoroughly in order to fully explore and analyze the varying perspectives regarding the selected issue. Students will properly cite all references using APA style. While there is no specific requirement for number of sources used, each paper must reference more than 10 sources and the majority of the sources should come from peer-reviewed, scholarly research journals.
