Please carefully refer to the Literature Review in Paper #1, the Methodology in Paper #2 and the requirements document to help me write the Discussion Paper. This paper only needs to involve discussion and conclusion basically. Please carefully refer to the requirements document for specific requirements of elements to be included. In addition, please make sure that the APA 7 format is correct.
Paper #3: Research Discussion Paper
The Research Discussion Paper is the culmination of your research project where you demonstrate the newly acquired knowledge and delve into the meaning and relevance of your empirical results. This paper aims to show how the discoveries from the literature and your study findings coalesce to demonstrate your stance on the collected evidence and to draw compelling conclusions. In it, you attempt to answer the research questions raised in the previous reports and therefore, composing it requires synthesis skills, logical thinking, reflection, and critical appraisal. You should organize the research discussion according to research questions or themes. As you explain and evaluate your findings, show how they relate to the literature review and research questions. Similar to all previous papers, you should make an argument in support of your overall conclusion. While there is a degree of flexibility in the paper structure of this genre, it is useful to adhere to the general recommendations and include the following elements:
Background information and to remind the reader of the research purpose, methodology.
A summary of key results or key claims or themes
Interpretations of the most important findings; a description of patterns and relationships among findings, placing them in proper perspective.
Analysis of unexpected findings (if any) or alternative explanations of the findings if appropriate.
Connections to the literature by comparing your findings with those in the literature examined in the Discovery Report. The approach to linking your data to external sources is known as the inside out, which entails referring to your study results in a sentence first and then relating them to the previous work.
Interpretations of your data may also include
odelimitations or/and limitations: e.g., a convenience sample, time constraints, or difficulty with full access to the site, or only males/females as the participants
oimplications for practice (answering the question so what?)
orecommendations for practice or suggestions for future inquiry.
The information in this sub-genre (rhetorical moves) is frequently organized as moving from general statements to specific details. Variations are possible depending on the field norms.
Linguistic features associated with the Discussion part-genre, such as:
oboosters (e.g., confirm, essential)
ohedges (e.g., to a certain extent)
oother examples of formulaic language to express links to the literature: e.g., as prior studies demonstrated; this assertion is consistent with
orefer to the Academic Phrase book or the COCA site (https://www.english-corpora.org/coca/).
Suggested length: 3-4 pages.
APA conventions
Note: The aforementioned recommendations are intended to guide you through the composing process of your research story and encourages you to think about organizing your discussion points in a more logical way. Therefore, do not write paragraphs in response to each recommendation; rather, try to weave the proposed elements/rhetorical moves into the overall research interpretation to demonstrate more mature writing.
