Consider the Blue Planet as an allegory. How is our life on Earth like the wild children on their Blue Planet? Not just physically but ideologically?
The Story of the Blue Planet ends with the wild children peacefully reconciling with Jolly-Goodday–even granting him his wish to be king. Is it possible to tame our consumerism? Can we have both the pleasures of “stuff” and the pleasures of a beautiful world? Or are the two states mutually exclusive?
We too are faced with the knowledge that we in Western Society have “more than” while others in the world suffer with “less.” How do we help?
Only use quote for important part.
