The first written assignment is intended to get you thinking analytically about mediated sports. This assignment challenges you to go a step further by developing and completing a research project in sports media scholarship. Again, the topic and approach you select are up to you to determine. You should, however, identify a fruitful area of research and an original thesis early in the semester and pursue this
research over the course of the semester. You may not complete this assignment by merely extending your Big Event / Issue assignment. Also, avoid writing an extended essay. Instead, engage yourself in communication studies research. To get started, take your cues from the course reading because each of these is in itself an example of sports communication scholarship; let these efforts stand as examples. Then identify questions that perhaps could be extended to a different context, which need further research, and/or raise further questions that you may distill into a logical and interesting research question.
My paper will be on women equality in sports.
Question? Why is women sports treated unjust to their male counterpart?

Be more specific about this topic as you pursue it, esp. in regards to CS 463. How, for ex., do mediated sports amplify a gendered assumption about what’s “normal” re sporting behavior? Our topic is the communication of sports. Stick to this context while addressing gender bias as you’ve outlined
