One of the things Becky resented most about her condition is how many of her family and friends felt she should “just snap out of it”. She only wished it was that easy. Becky isn’t even completely sure what caused her to feel this way: chemical imbalance, hormones, painful traumatic life events? All she knew was that she seemed incapable of feeling any joy or pleasure and instead felt worthless with a deep sense of helplessness. To complicate things, her mood has caused her to barely have any appetite at all and it seems all she wants to do is sleep.
