This assignment is designed to collect input data needed for the BCA for the generator project in the Town of Cottonwood, AZ and evaluate the pre-application using the BRIC criteria.

This assignment does not provided step-by-step instructions on how to do this. This assignment is designed as a research assignment–you will have to investigate what information you need and collect the needed data.

I. For the benefit-cost analysis (BCA) of a utility generator project, you need the following input data (see JobAid,  JobAid’s Scenario 4, BCA guide)

1) Project Useful Life
2) Customers served by utility company/department
3) Project cost
4) Recurrence interval of all hazards affecting assets at risk

To answer these four questions, at a minimum, you will need to consult the JobAid, the application, the BCA Reference GuidPreview the documente, and the Yavapai County Hazard Mitigation Plan (Links to an external site.).

Answer in full sentences and provide i.e. reference the source of information using the APA format (Links to an external site.).

II. Aside from the Benefit-Cost-Ratio, BRIC projects are evaluated using technical as well as qualitative criteria.

Write an assessment of the Cottonwood application and provide a score covering all 8 technical and 6 qualitative criteria. Explain and justify your scores. DO NOT take the application’s information provided at face value–make sure that you verify the information offered by the City of Cottonwood (aka the sub-applicant; the State of Arizona is the applicant).
