Overview: Academic arguments are not summaries of one persons opinion. Instead, academic
arguments represent what happens when multiple researchers work overtime to come to more
accurate conclusions. This assignment will require that students engage in layered analysis.

Assignment: As always, begin with research. Find at least seven sources on the same topic
and look for connections. Then, advance an argument using those sources. However, each
claim must be supported by evidence from at least two sources. The final document must
advance an argument that was, at one point, considered unsubstantiated. The final work should
be 1500-1600 words long.
