The purpose of the assignment is to:
Give students the opportunity to synthesize and apply the concepts learned in this and previous coursework to analyze a real-world scenario
Improve students understanding and ability to think critically about HR issues and strategies using a real life scenario.
Understand, analyze, and diagnose HR practices and stratgies
Students will work individually to use critical thinking skills as students examine the causes, consider and compare/contrast alternative courses of actions, probe underlying issues, and suggest recommendations or strategies that address the situations of the case:
-AT&T, Retraining, and the Workforce of Tomorrow, HBS Brief Cases.
The written case study analysis must be at least 3 pages typed, double spaced, 12-point font, and 1-inch margins.
Case studies should follow the following format:
Company Introduction
Industry and products Current Status
Revenue, Number of employees
History Positives and Setbacks
Business Strategy Mission

HR Practices and their Success
Strategic Role of HR
Current HR trends and strategies being used
Consistency between Strategy and HR Practices
