1.    Read the article ” Google exploiting search monopoly to ‘dominate’ job recruitment sector, industry warns”. The article discusses the complaints of online job search companies about the strategies employed by Google to create such monopoly power for itself.

2.    Create a paper in the form of an APA formatted article that addresses the following questions. Please use apply concepts and theories learned from the textbook to support your ideas, including at least 1 intext citation.
o    Assume you are a government watchdog.  What would make you think a company is trying to exert monopoly power in a market?  Do you think Google practices mentioned in the text would fit into that description?  Provide evidence for the position you take.
o    The main premise of the free market economy is to lower regulation and let companies compete for providing the best products and services in the marketplace.  How would regulation improve competition or reconcile with the spirit of capitalism?  Explain.
o    How many firms would be needed to create a competitive environment?  How many would be needed for a perfectly competitive environment?  Is it possible to ever have a perfectly competitive marketplace?  Provide examples of markets with perfect competition.
