    According to Merriam-Webster dictionary conformity can be defined as correspondence in accordance with some specified standard or authority. Rebellion on the other hand is opposition; resistance to authority thus could be identified as a direct antonym to conformity. The above clarification is very important because conformity and rebellion cannot co-exist however, one begets another.

Base the essay on this argument:

Excess conformity brings about rebellion ,whereas rebellion eventually transitions to conformity as society satisfies their needs and is required to bring down the chaos which comes with rebelion. I will highlight such contrast between conformity and rebellion through exploring the extracts: Shooting an Elephant, On Governess, and Decolonizing the Mind.
