What were the reasons for our support of extremely violent regimes in Latin America?  Weve read authors that discuss different theories: (1) preventing communism & USSR influence (2) theory of the two demons (3) US economics. You may argue for one of the three. To support your argument you will need to evaluate our role in the region and its violence. Give specific examples and numbers so the overview is not vague.  Remember to frequently cite the assigned readings: Rabe, McSherry, Kirkpatrick, and Stokes. Ask yourself what reason does each of these authors suggest for US policies.
