the paper should be 4 pages of scholarly work.  (This does NOT include the title page, table of contents, bibliography)  The paper is to be done as a MICROSOFTWORD document on a computer/word processor.  Use 12 pt. font size.  Use double-space line spacing.

This course requires the submission of a scholarly research paper on a topic addressed in the text.  The paper is required to have as its sources at least two citations from academic journals or from books other than the text used in the course and from at least two responsible websites devoted to the study of criminal justice/juvenile justice.  Do not use Wikipedia as a source.  If you use Wikipedia you must site Wikipedias source.

Explain your topic as if the reader has little to no knowledge of the subject matter.

Make sure that you cover the history of your subject, the use or uses in the past, present, and future.  State the topic relevancy and reliability.  What types of cases or situations would it be used in?  …the cases it has been used in?  …or the failures that it has produced.

Proof read, re-read, and have someone else proof read your paper before you submit it.  Students who utilize the writing center will receive an additional 10 points.
