Uber for planes and the FAA

For ground transportation, ride-sharing programs such as Uber are gaining popularity. Several companies, such as OpenAirplane, DiamondShare, AirPower, Flytenow, and SkyPool were formed to offer similar air transportation programs using privately owned, non-commercially operated aircraft on an expense-sharing basis under 14 CFR 61.113(b). Determine the FAA’s present position on the legality of such operations and the reasoning behind that position, and then evaluate the reasonableness. Your response should include the proposal of how one of these operations would function (only with respect to the concepts presented in chapter 12). Research outside of the textbook is expected and will be necessary.

Submit your response in APA format in a minimum of 300 words. I do not accept newspaper articles, blogs, or Wikipedia as an acceptable reference.
