War of terrorism

This project is completed in two parts.  The first part requires you to write a short paper about the topic you chose.  In addition to the paper, you will also choose 8 artifacts related in some way to that topic, and create PowerPoints for those.

Begin by choosing a topic from this course-anything weve covered or will cover will do (check the textbook or course modules) for suggestions.  Email me with your choice.  Since no two people in the class can use the same subject, I recommend sending me your top three choices, with your number one choice at the top.  Email your list to .

Next, do some preliminary research on your chosen topic.  The textbook is a good place to start.  As you read about this topic, think about why this topic is important enough to include in a study of American History.  Be ready to cover the basic questions of historical research: who, what, why, whenand why was this important?

For your paper, you will summarize the topic as it relates to World History and explain why the topic is worth studying. Be sure to view the grading rubric so you can see what a successful paper will look like.

Specific Instructions for the paper:

Use Times New Roman font with 12 point typeface only

Use 1 margins on all sides

Double-space your lines

Do not print on the backs of your pages

Use a cover sheet, with the following information on it, centered in the middle of the page:

Your Name – Christina Coward

Class Number and Section

Class Times – 12-12;50

(skip four lines)

Title of your paper – War Of Terrorism

Use APA format for documenting your sources, which you will provide in a works cited page at the end of the paper.

Use APA format for in-text citations.

You must use no fewer than three sources.  You may NOT count encyclopedias, wikis, blogs, course textbooks or dictionaries as sources.  You must cite from each source at least once.

You can have no more than 3 lines of direct quotes per page.  In other words, I want to see YOUR writing, not line after line of other peoples writing.  If you paraphrase, be sure to cite.

Your paper must be 800-1000 words in length, not counting the cover page and the works cited page.

Maximum points:  100
