Curriculum Overview

In the first discussion in Unit 2, you selected a specific nursing curriculum either in an academic setting, such as a school of nursing, or a clinical setting, such as a hospital staff development program. For this assignment, provide an overview of that curriculum.

Your overview of the curriculum should include the following:

A description of the selected curriculum and the organization or department where it is used. In your description, include:
A description of the intended learners in this program.
A program rationale: Why is the program needed?
The mission statement of the institution and of the program, if the two are different.
A list and description of the courses in the program.
The established professional standards, guidelines, and competencies incorporated in the program.
Student learning outcomes.
The process that is most likely in place to make sure the health care knowledge presented in the curriculum is up-to-date.
A brief description of whether and how technology is addressed or incorporated into the curriculum.
Any evidence that the program includes a multicultural statement outlining how this program will meet the needs of all learner populations and your evaluation of whether the curriculum will meet those needs.

References: In addition to the unit readings, include references from at least two peer-reviewed journal articles that are not required for this course, cited in proper APA format.
Length of paper: The paper should be 34 pages in length, not including the title page and the reference page, and it must follow proper APA style and formatting.
Appendix: You may use an appendix for appropriate material, such as individual course descriptions. The appendix will not be included in the page count for the paper.
Font and font-size: Times New Roman, 12 points.
