Choose your favorite comedian (you can do a search for comedians and find one that you like or any and identify one social issue or trend that they highlight in one of their performances. Then include the following in your essay.

  1. The comedians stance on the topic and general info about that topic (what it is, who does it involve, how widespread it is, etc.) Use as many sources for this part of the essay as you need.

  2. What research method (interviews, surveys, ethnography, etc.) and which theoretical perspective (structural-functional, conflict, or symbolic interaction) would you use if you were to study the issue?  (Dont do a study, just tell me how you would study it.) Then explain why that method and theoretical perspective fit your topic.
