Presidency

The American Presidency has grown in power and statue over the last two hundred years. A President’s number one source of power is his/her capacity to translate political capital (popularity) into desired policy outcomes. Thus, the personal characteristics of a President often separate the great from the mediocre or bad Presidents.
What personal attributes do you believe make for a ‘great’ President? You must give examples of Presidents who possessed these traits and discuss how such attributes contributed to ‘greatness’ and why?
