The final project will include a one paragraph artist statement explaining your inspiration for the painting. The statement must include and an artistic reference of at least one painter from a museum collection who has inspired your work. Include an properly cited image of this artist’s work. Please link your ideas with the inspiration piece, Perhaps it’s the artist’s, process, paint handling, or visual vocabulary that inspires you. Remember, please explain the how and why behind your idea, do not state, “I like this artist and want to emulate their work!” the artists statement should be thoughtful, revealing your idea behind your final project.
