Write and post a short example (a paragraph or two) of using the scientific method to perform an experiment or investigate a scientific theory.  Use the scientific terms such as the following in your example: observe, question, predict, hypothesis.

Scientific method: Principles and procedures for the systematic pursuit of knowledge involving the recognition and formulation of a problem, the collection of data through observation and experiment, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses.

There are variations on how scientists do their work.  Since there is more than one way scientists do their work, this is referred to as scientific methods.  The following are common features of how scientists do their work:
Observe – physical world, such as unexplained observation.

Question – make educated guess, a hypothesis, to explain observation.

Predict consequences that can be observed if hypothesis is correct (or consequences absent if hypothesis is incorrect).
Test Prediction perform experiment to see if consequences predicted are present.

Draw a conclusion Formulate general rule to organize hypothesis, predictions, and experimental findings.

(could include trial and error, experimentation without hypothesis, or accident).

Limitations Science cant explain everything.  Science applies to hypotheses that are testable.
