Part II: Writing Assignment
Reflective practice means thinking about what you do. In early education, teachers reflect on their setting and consider how the changes they make shape childrens thinking and influence decision-making. Reflective practice places the teacher in the role of learner as he/she must think about the values and theories that inform his/her everyday practice.
For this section, you will write a 2-3-page narrative about your personal creative stages process that came about as you designed an area for children. You must align your experience with one of two theories: Wallass model of creative thinking (preparation, inhibition, illumination, verification) or Torrances view of creative process (originality, flexibility, fluency, elaboration). (4-5 paragraphs)
Secondly, knowing what you do about your own creative process, describe what you can do to further support young childrens creative development. (1-2 paragraphs)
Lastly, propose ideas about how you think young children would respond to the area you designed.
(1-2 paragraphs)
APA citation and separate resource page required (not counted in 2-3-page paper length).
