Critical Essay 2:

Submit a 2-3-page paper following the guidelines listed below and answer the following question:

2. Intelligence-Led Policing:  The New Intelligence Architecture
3. Working towards Intelligence-Led Policing:  The Phoenix Police Department Intelligence Officer Program
4. The Benefit of Intelligence Officers

Describe the ways in which intelligence is critical to law enforcement agencies.  How are problem-oriented policing, offender-focused policing, and community policing utilized within intelligence-led policing?  Describe some of the key factors necessary for successful intelligence-led policing and why these elements are vital.  Include your thoughts on how intelligence-led policing effectively addresses crime prevention.

In this course, government websites (fbi.gov, dni.gov, etc.) will be considered scholarly sources. The course text and readings may be included in the minimum number of scholarly sources for Critical Essays.
