Instructions: Answer the following 5 questions in paragraph formats.

Questions:
1. What are developmental sequences?
2. To what degree are they “fixed”? i.e., are they always the same for all learners?
3. Why might the concept of development sequences be important for teachers / course designers  when designing their courses?
4. Why is implicit knowledge considered the “goal” of language learning?
5. Choose an educational context that you are familiar with (e.g., Hong Kong school system). To what degree does the curriculum focus on the development of explicit vs. implicit knowledge?
