1.) Read the article carefully and thoroughly while keeping the following questions in mind:
What is the topic?
What is the research question?
What is the hypothesis? Whatwerethemethodsthatwereusedinthestudy? What were the results of the study?
What are the implications of the study?
What were the limitations of the study?

2.)Your summary should not include first person narrative and should be presented with economy of expression (non-flowery, scientific language). Journal article summaries should not include any direct quotes from the article and all efforts should be made to paraphrase effectively, use in-text citations and include an APA formatted reference should appear on a separate page at the end of your summary and titled References.
3.) summarize the article that you have read in your own words. To write a journal article summary, remember that you are summarizing the article, not the topic that the researcher has studied. Use concise and succinct language to clearly describe the research question, hypothesis, methods, results, the implications of the study and any limitations to the study. This is not a critique of the article, you are summarizing in your own words and using APA citation style format for writing, grammar, formatting, citations and including a full reference.
4.) Your article summary should not include a title page, authors note, running header or abstract.
