Systemic theories of international relations

Please answer the questions:
What should systemic theories of international relations look like? How should they conceptualize the relationship between structure and process? Should they be based exclusively on “microeconomic” analogies in which identities and interests are exogenously given by structure and process is reduced to interactions within those parameters? Or should they also be based on “sociological” and “social psychological” analogies in which identities and interests and therefore the meaning of structure are endogenous to process?”
